A Texas native from El Paso an with a passion for sales, marketing and operations. Born in Wichita Kansas, I have been in Amarillo for 31 years, when in 1987 my parents relocated to follow their dream in the hospitality industry. It was an exciting and a little scary experience for me, a small child moving from the big city to one that is 1/6th the size.
However, despite the uneasy feeling, the community quickly embraced us as one of their own and helped make transition very easy. I understood early on why my parents chose Amarillo, the people and professionals in this community are very kind and always ready to lend a helping hand for their fellow neighbor.
As a child living on the premises of the hotel provided me a unique perspective on what it means to be in the hospitality industry. I did my school studies while sitting with my father at the front desk and my mother would quiz my knowledge retention while we worked in the hotel laundry facility. On the weekends, I followed my father around the property learning how to troubleshoot and fix problems pertaining to TV’s, air conditions, telecom, plumbing and electrical to
name a few. It was fascinating to watch how two people from India that never finished primary school, knew so much about the ins and outs of running a hotel. I progressed to learn a vast majority of skills pertaining to the hotel and lodging industry and humbled about the work ethic I received from my parents.
Throughout the 12 years of grade school, I made countless friends and forged relationships that are still maintained today. Upon graduating in 1999, I relocated to further my education at the University of San Antonio in Texas. Although my mission was to eventually go into medicine, during my undergraduate studies, I realized I did not have a passion for medicine and made the change to go into engineering. Completing my studies, in 2003 I started work in the Aerospace industry with an affiliate of Lockheed Martin and quickly moved up the company structure and was sure I found my
career. Sadly, in 2006, I was involved in an automobile accident which after my rehabilitation, would prove impossible to resume work in my previous capacity.
I made the decision to move back to Amarillo with my new wife in 2007 to reengage the family business and grow my personal and professional characteristic traits. Today, I am proud to say our family business has grown exponentially and now employs over 50 people, I have 2 children of my own, a stable work/family life, received my pilots license, advanced my political career, and most recently was awarded my first United States Utility Patent for a new product I
hope to bring to market soon. Needless to say, I love this and all it has given me, that is why in 2012 I commissioned to build my dream home and raise my family here. Instilling the same culture and moral values benefited to me as a child and will continue to benefit my family from years to come.
